Wild, wild wings.

Last weekend, for Kevin's birthday we decided to try someplace new for lunch.  Kevin had been saying he'd like to try Buffalo Wild Wings in nearby Danbury, CT but we just never got around to it, until that particular afternoon.

I'm not a sports-event-type-girl and Kevin, other than Wrestling and some football, isn't that kind of guy, either.  So I figured I was going to have to , 'Take one for the team' so to speak (pun intended!) when we walked into this place.  My first impression was that it was a bit dark, the music was a little loud and there were TONS of flat screen TV's everywhere, this was going to be lunch in a giant man cave.

I am happy to report that other than 1 little blip Kevin's birthday lunch was a great time!

Our waitress, who reminded me a lot of P!NK (the singer) helped Kevin choose a delicious beer from the extensive list & even offered to get him a sample before he actually choose it.  I ordered a Cherry Limeade which was very refreshing.  The moment I set eyes on the menu, we swiftly ordered our Hot Pretzels w/spicy cheese dip appetizer.  I'm a sucker for hot pretzels.  Kevin decided on wings, of course.  I was a little skeptical because of the surgery we've had, the wings tend to not agree with him, but it was his birthday and I wanted him to get whatever he wanted.  I was having a hard time making a decision, but we both wanted to keep it simple, inexpensive & a little on the lite side, as we were supposed to go out to dinner that evening as well.  The flat bread pizza's caught my eye.  There were 3 different types, but the Garlic Chicken Parmesan flat bread sounded the best.

The pretzels were amazing, but the cheese sauce had one helluva kick so I stayed away from that. I don't really like TOO spicy, anything.  Kevin seemed to like it though.  While we waited we watched any number of sporting events on the TVs all around us. There was golf, tennis, football, NASCAR, etc. And then Kevin noticed some of the TVs had interactive Trivia if you download an APP on your smartphone. So, being the computer geek that he is, he immediately asked the Waitress about the app. She gave him the necessary info and also brought over an electronic device (in case you don't have a smartphone) that you could play the trivia on.  You just create a login & password and a user name and you can play with anyone else in the restaurant who is playing. We both really enjoyed that.  So even if you go here with your significant other who doesn't like sports, there is something to do that doesn't necessarily involve football, baseball, etc.  It was pretty cool!

Soon, our lunches arrived. Kevin said his wings were great and his beer was very flavorful and he really enjoyed both.

My flat bread pizza was okay, but I definitely detected some serious spice upon my first bite.  I ordered water and ranch dressing as soon as I saw our waitress.  I was surprised at the amount of heat coming out of that pizza since there was nothing in the description that would warrant such a kick in the mouth. I'm used to garlic, I have it constantly so there was something else that was amiss.  I pulled some of the cheese off and saw red pepper flakes mixed in.  So that was my only little blip.  Not wanting to make a big fuss and to let my husband enjoy his meal drama-free I dipped my pizza in the ranch (which I love to do, anyway) and drank my water and all turned out okay in the end.

Would we go back?  We plan on it.  :)
