KEVIN: Well...Aimee and I had to leave really, really early from home (330am) to head to the airport to leave for Florida for vacation. We hadn't eaten anything since dinner the night before and we were both feeling hungry. We decided to make a stop at the Au Bon Pain located inside the LaGuardia airport. Not as expected. Had a sausage, egg,and cheese on an asiago bagel. Looks better than it tastes! Note to self: Wait for sandwich counter to open, Don't eat a sandwich i that's been sitting god knows how long in the hotbox.
AIMEE: I was really nervous the Saturday we left for vacation. It had been 2 yrs since we'd flown and a lot has happened in life since then. I think my nerves were just shot and I had the jitters all day the day before as well. I didn't want to eat anything major til we got to Florida but the truth was, I had some big time tummy rumbles and needed to eat a little something before we took off. It was approx. 4-430am on Saturday 9/22. We had checked our bags and gotten through security pretty quickly and headed to find some breakfast. We stopped at Au Bon Pain which I hadn't had before. Susan used to be the manager of one so I had heard about them but never eaten there. It was too early for the sandwich counter to be open so they directed us to an area where there was mostly pre-made items. Kevin asked if I wanted a sausage, egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel. I shrugged, it being too early to know my name, let alone what I wanted to eat. I just wanted my stomach to calm down so I shook my head yes. He waited in the all-too-long line to pay for the food and I went to get a table. When we were both seated we agreed we had to take pictures of everything we ate on our trip (especially new foods/places) so we could update our blog. I immediately took out my camera but unfortunately I dont have the photo of the completely overdone rubberized hot box'd egg because we had to reset my phone and I ended up losing some photos. But that was one rubbery-assed egg! I took one bite, wrapped it up and ended up tossing it out. It was a very expensive sandwich to boot, at almost $7/each! I wont be eating there again..and You can take that to the bank!
